At Poke & Sons in Copenhagen, dark vertical panelling and a terrazzo floor set a calm backdrop for a busy dining room. Mater Cafe Tables in Coffee Waste Black run the length of the space, paired with light oak chairs that lift the darker tones. The tabletops are made of Matek®, Mater's recycled material, fabricated from post-consumer e-waste mixed with either coffee shell or wood waste.
A table made for daily use

The Cafe Table was made with commercial life in mind. The tabletop has a simple, clean design making it suitable for various settings, and a slim cylindrical metal base ensures the table's stability and offers free placement of chairs. In a restaurant where seating is rearranged through the day, that matters as much as the surface itself.
The Coffee Waste Black finish carries the marks of what it is made from. No two tabletops are quite alike, and the surface is made to be used rather than protected.
The collection was made with commercial life in mind. The Matek® surface takes daily wiping, cups set down without thought, and the wear that comes from being used from open to close.

In alliance with large corporations, Mater has developed a technology that recycles their fibre and plastic waste. This results in five material blends under the name Matek®.
FSC®-certified woodWe have used FSC®-certified wood in selected products since the beginning. FSC® certification is based on standards for forest management, biodiversity and workers' rights.
Mater Take-back
Furniture made with Matek® can be returned at the end of its life for recycling into new furniture. Take-back is arranged case by case, depending on location and volume.
