Collaborations

Københavns Plantefarveri is a natural dye studio located in Copenhagen. The studio is run by designer and natural dyer Maja Lund Hvidtfeldt. The studio’s botanical dyeing techniques are modern, experimental and innovative, and builds on in-depth studies of various techniques and materials, that Maja learned from artisans on her travels around the world. When using natural dyes, it is possible to avoid toxic chemicals in the production, resulting in a sustainable textile returning to nature as pure compost material. Københavns Plantefarveri wants to showcase sustainable slow fashion and the value of timeless, no-season garments. The studio creates hand dyed luxurious textiles in highest quality with a clothing line called Flowerscapes.

Mater Earth Gallery has a small collection of the Flowerscapes clothing line and has collaborated with Københavns Plantefarveri to develop linen napkins and tablecloths dyed by different kinds of foodwaste.

Studio Marianne Viktor stands for bold, handmade, sustainable Scandinavian design pieces that tell a story. Their belief is that what you have in your space transforms it. That’s why they work tirelessly to create functional objects that are as striking and playful to look at, as they are delightful to use. Crafted pieces imbued with a modern mindset, for life.

For the Mater Earth Gallery, Marianne Viktor made the Rocco table set in three different shades of green and some pieces from her hand-molded collection.

Tina Marie Cph's workshop in Copenhagen, is where everything is developed. In the creation of ceramic pieces, her aim is to develop a mix of materials and surfaces that gives the most sensuous experience. Subtle silhouettes with unpretentious details, caused by the ceramic processes and materials. Shaded color combinations and vivid surfaces plays the most important role. You will find slight imperfections and marks, which tells about the process of creation, contributing to the uniqueness and beauty of the forms and which are part of the character of the individual handmade piece.

Mater Earth Gallery has a beautiful collection of bowls, vases and teapots by Tina Marie.

Mette Duedahl is a Danish ceramic designer who graduated from The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Design on Bornholm in 2011. Mette Duedahl originally trained as a photographer but felt an element was lacking for her to convey aesthetics in the way she wanted. The focal point of Mette Duedahl’s work is her workshop. This is where she can develop new products and try them out in smaller scales before they are set into production and released into a larger market.

Mater Earth Gallery sells the LAND collection of Mette Duedahl. With their clean lines and understated aesthetics, LAND products are presented in the simplicity of what they really are; pieces of processed nature with user-friendly qualities that enable them to exist as favorite household items for many years to come.

Cocoon Tea Artisans is born out of the love for tea. There are many reasons why they love tea. There are the endless aromas and flavors that you’ll never get tired of exploring. There are the vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that the original tea plant Camellia Sinensis has to offer the body. And last but not least, there’s the calming effect on the mind. At Cocoon Tea Artisans they use only the best ingredients in order to make you, your body and your mind happy. That’s why all of their teas are organic and free from the very bad pesticides. Their mission is to make it easier to bring organic quality tea into your daily routine. That’s why their teas are crafted in pyramid "silk" bags to avoid a mess and protect our fine blends – just like a real cocoon.

At Mater Earth Gallery we are happy to be one of Cocoon Tea Artisans’ retailers. We also host tea tastings and explore the use of the tea herbs in our Ne Pleure Plus dinner.

Nagelsbjerg Vin is a small producer of premium sparkling apple wines and ciders. The apples originate from a couple of abandoned orchards on Zealand, and from wild trees growing in the landscape of Nord Sealand. The resulting fruit is sparse and often small and irregular, but always intensely flavored and perfect for winemaking. In the winery, the philosophy is to do as little as possible, but intervening when necessary, to ensure that the potential of the fruit is carried all the way to the final wine. The wines are elegant and clean with a focus on the purest expression of the fruit. Nagelsbjerg Vin has been awarded both best Danish sparkling apple wine and traditional cider. Behind it, all from apple to glass is Jens Peter Bak who is an educated artist now devoting himself to the art of apple wine making.
