Mater Table Collection

The tabletop is made of Matek®, five patented materials created by Mater in 2020. Innovative technology allows us to recycle fibre-based waste materials with recycled plastic waste. Every Matek® product is made with either post-consumer e-waste or biodegradable plastic mixed with coffee or wood waste. At Mater we see opportunities in waste and scrap materials to recycle, reuse and create new and durable products.

Where it belongs

At home
In a kitchen, a small round table is often the piece that gets used most. The Ø 60 and the 60 x 60 seat two without crowding a corner, and the Ø 100 opens the room up for four. Because the base is a single column rather than four legs, chairs can be placed anywhere around it - and pulled up when someone else arrives.

In cafes and restaurants
The collection was made with commercial life in mind. The Matek® surface takes daily wiping, cups set down without thought, and the wear that comes from being used from open to close. Cafe height for the dining room, counter height for the bar, bar height for standing-service seating.

In workspaces
The same table works in a meeting room, a canteen or a break area. In a workspace where sustainability is part of how the building is specified, a table made from waste is not a detail that needs explaining twice.

Outside the obvious
Hotel lobbies. Reading rooms. A showroom that needs somewhere to sit and talk. The collection is designed for both residential and commercial use, and it does not change character when it moves between them.
