Sticks'n'Sushi
With bold, playful, and captivating interiors, the Sticks’n’Sushi restaurant at Battersea Power Station in London features vibrant colours, from rich reds to soothing blues. The design incorporates a variety of tactile materials, including glazed tiles, eelgrass panels, and Mater chairs and lightning made of Matek™. Mater’s recycled material, fabricated from post-consumer e-waste mixed with either coffee shell or wood waste.

Illuminating designs by OEO Studio
at Sticks'n'Sushi in London
The newly opened Sticks’n’Sushi restaurant boasts a striking interior crafted by Copenhagen’s renowned OEO Studio. Tiled organic columns set a warm and inviting tone, seamlessly merging casual seating with bespoke furniture.
Central to the dining experience, the seating areas feature Compound Dining chairs, by Mater in various editions, both upholstered and non-upholstered, offering comfort and sustainability. Overhead, clusters of Terra pendant lights create an intimate ambiance, beautifully complemented by Terra Portable lamps at the tables. The interior concept draws inspiration from 1960-70s, artfully combining elements with a modern contemporary flair.
"Much like the Compound chair also found at the restaurant, the Terra Lamp is crafted from upcycled plastic waste, combined with coffee shells and sawdust leftovers. Both products remove a significant amount of waste materials, helping to create a more beautiful and cleaner world.” Thomas Lykke, OEO Studio

Matek®
In alliance with large corporations, Mater has invented a patented technology that recycles their fibre and plastic waste. This resulting in five new unique materials that we’ve named Matek®.
Mater Take-Back
We unhesitatingly offer to take all our furniture made from Matek® back at the end of its life to recycle it into new furniture.
