MATER IS SEARCHING FOR A GREEN TECH INNOVATION MANAGER
Mater is a Danish design brand founded in 2006 with a vision to be the pioneering global design brand with sustainability as its core value. We combine circular production in waste streams with timeless and alluring design, through collaboration with an external base of well-established and new design talents. We constantly explore materials and production methods that are environmentally friendly to limit any negative effects of its design process without compromising aesthetics. Today our products are sold in more than 40 countries.
We are looking into adding a new and very important team member to Mater. The Green Tech Manager, will be a leading force on our material and technology development. Today, we own the machines but they are operated by a strategic partner. The ideal candidate will be able to bring material and technology competences to the table today and at the same time be able to co-drive a future high volume set-up – together with our COO.
Your areas of responsibilities:
- Technology owner.
- Responsible for significantly improving our material and technology process capabilities. Adding speed and quality in Maters decision making.
- Work closely with our Internal teams and production partners, translating ideas to products that can be delivered in high quality and volume
- Building material standards and datasheets for our Matek material
- Testing materials and waste streams before adding them to our material portefolio
- Technical product development of all Matek produccts on all Maters furniture and OEM products, working closely with Maters Product development Team
- Installation of new machines. Project management and hands on.
- Together with COO, design and develop the future test lab and high volume.
Competence we are looking for:
- Team player with a can do/get the job done attitude
- Material Specialist within polymer and fibers
- Technical specialist within press moulding and plastic injection
- Understanding PLC programming
- Technical product development in the furniture business or similar
- Hands-on product development expertise
- Technical tests of material capabilities
- Project Management
- Technical degree within engineering – properly machine/material engineer or similar
- You have a growth mindset, you are ambitious, smart and are well aware of how to succeed as a teamplayer
- Language: Danish & English (orally and written)
- As a person you are curious, quick learner and not afraid of the unknown
The role requires 50-70 days of travelling.

- Speed in our product development
- Efficiency improvements in production
- Matek sales ratio.
