Space Wood Collection
Through the years, an extensive and long-lasting design bond between Mater and the design duo Space Copenhagen has developed, resulting in a line of Danish designs crafted from FSC wood.
It started with the classic High Stool in 2007. Since then, the collection has evolved with the Accent Table series, The Dining Chair, The Lounge Chair, and The High Stool Backrest. All designs draw on the same typology – a beautiful, fluid organic design that comes across as both sculptural and minimalistic.

All chairs and tables are made of FSC® certified wood
All chairs and tables are made of FSC® certified wood
The intention was from the beginning to create a collection entirely made of FSC-certified wood, a choice that was not as widespread then as it is now.
An FSC® certification ensures that the wood comes from responsibly managed forests, where harvesting trees is limited to what the forests can safely reproduce. The certification also guarantees fair pricing, fair wages, and fair working conditions for forestry workers.
”The High Stool has a very special place in our hearts as it was the first piece of furniture
we got into production”
– Space Copenhagen
Spaces Copenhagen’s signature style is evident in all pieces, balancing opposites – classic
and modern, industrial and organic, sculpturaland minimal, light and shade.

Space Copenhagen
Established in 2005 by Signe Bindslev Henriksen and Peter Bundgaard Rützou, Space Copenhagen is a design studio that works across multiple disciplines from interior design for private homes, hotels, and restaurants all over the world to art installations and art direction, furniture, lighting, and refined objects. The studio’s intuitive approach embodies designs that are distinctively shaped by the given circumstances, functional needs, and a fundamental interest in human behaviour. It is a sense of and belief in slow aesthetics that centres quality and longevity.
