High Stool

When Mater was founded, one design came to define the brand’s beginning: The High Stool by Space Copenhagen.

Rooted in the essence of Danish design, the stool reflects honest craftsmanship, natural materials, and a timeless expression. Today, this icon enters a new chapter as The Original Collection is revisited and reimagined for the future.

Designed by the renowned Danish architecture duo Space Copenhagen, the stools are recognised as New Danish Classics. Their organic, minimalist silhouette offers a versatile expression suited to both residential and commercial interiors. As part of the revitalisation of the collection, the stools continue the original design language with refined comfort and updated materials.

From early spring 2026, all Low and High Stools are available in selected textiles from Kvadrat’s Baru and Clay collections, allowing for extended customisation across the range.

This version of the High Stool is crafted from FSC®-certified grey beech and upholstered in Clay, colour 0012. Click felt gliders are available upon request.

Offered in two seat heights - 69cm and 74cm. The 69cm height is recommended for kitchen counters, while the 74cm height is ideal for bar tables. The High Stool collection is available with click felt gliders upon request.
