This spring, we introduce a Special Edition of the renowned High Stool in a warm brown stained beech with steel cross and seat in Dark Brown Dunes leather from Sørensen Leather.

The High Stool is designed by the Danish architect duo Space Copenhagen and is regarded as a New Danish Classic. With its organic yet minimalist style, the high stool quickly became an interior darling when first introduced in 2007.

 As with all our wooden furniture, this edition is naturally made with FSC-certified wood. Meaning that the wood comes from forests where no more trees are felled than the forest can safely replenish. The Space High Stool Collection is classic and timeless design made of FSC-certified wood, with dedicated craftsmanship and eye for the details. The new edition lends a softer touch to the classic collection and speaks to leading interior trends.

Aluminum edition

The autumn 2023, marked the 15th anniversary of The High Stool – Aluminum edition. The original wooden version, designed by Space Copenhagen, has become a new Danish classic and is widely known around the world. But the lesser-known aluminum version has an interesting craft and sustainability story to tell.

Seventy percent of the aluminum used for the high stool comes from recycled old pipes, tubing, and other aluminum waste. The aluminum scraps are melted and mixed with thirty percent new material to obtain a clear silvery expression. The High Stools are handcrafted in India by skilled craftspeople who practice the ancient technique of sand casting. Sand casting is a traditional metal casting process characterized by the use of sand as the moulding form. Hard-packed sand is sculpted around a model. When the model is removed, it creates a hollow form that can be filled with melted aluminum.

In this way, discarded metal scraps can be transformed into extraordinarily design pieces. With its luminous expression, the High Stool – Aluminum edition, is bound to add a little edge to any interior environment.
